Thought I espied the Dream Sequencer 2 on one of your laptops - I used it on my "Timeless Mind" album. Very cool piece of software that's also free.

I was looking forward to last night and it didnt dissappoint, Paul Harriman did a great job with his Eigenharp and EWI and it was fascinating to watch and hear the sounds that those two instruments created, nice to meet him at last and chat after his performance. It was also great to see everyone again, nice chatting to David T, Brendan, Deryn and Paul Darlow, he's a very knowledgable guy, also nice to see Neil Fellows there. Peter played a more live feel set than he has in the past choosing to not have so much embelishment behind his playing offering a few nice bits throughout the set. Headshock were brilliant, both film and music working together in perfect harmony, at times it sounded like there was a CD playing such was the slickness of these two guys, even when the feel dropped to almost nothing, there was still loads going on, lots of talent and very clever what they did, I did however, travel home feeling quite sad at the possiblity that this may end after the alldayer. The above sums my thoughts up. Paul H was very good, a bit different, but I did like it. Peter was awesome. Loved it. Would have turned up just for that. Headshock, well Paul said it was improv, but difficult to believe. They played so together. Very clever sounds and rythms. Again, very unique sound. Very impressed with it. I think all 3 sets will be growers.. This is why I turn up in person. It takes me 4 hours to get there and back, 210 miles total, and I have been to every Awakenings at Burton. Why, for nights like this. It will be a great shame if it folds, but unfortunately everything has its shelf life....

I sincerely hope it can keep going, particularly as I have only recently started to attend myself. It was a little bit of a hike, 2 hours on a bus to Peterborough then another hour and a half car journey with my chum Ross Lamond. The drive back plus an over-night stay at Ross's place and then the 2 hour bus trip back to Norwich.
All totally worth it, and I will do it again should I attend the All-Dayer (which I am planning to do as I want to see Pickford live). It was a great evening with a good mix of styles. I loved Paul Harriman's set, some truly beautiful sounds. Peter Tedstone is someone I've followed for the last few years and he simply did not disappoint. And Headshock were just brilliant, gave me a few ideas for my own set in July. I also enjoyed the social aspect, meeting up with familiar faces and chatting with fans of projects I'm involved in, such as Code Indigo.
So sad about the numbers not attending. Live music will die if it isn't supported and most musicians do their thing as a side-line. Also, musicians aren't a charity, these things can't be done for free. They often incur far more costs to get to play at the event than the audience because of possible vehicle hire, fuel costs (no public transport option - unless you're Jez Creek of course!!!) and possible accomodation costs. I still run with the argument that if you're prepared to pay a tenner plus postage for a CD/CDr, then a tenner for something live, and often a one off, is a bargain, particularly when you have three acts playing. I don't get any other logic. On the question of distance then yes, it can be tricky, but if you love the music, then you'll find a way. I did - public transport and a bit of pre-planning will save you zillions compared to petrol. What if everyone stopped making music? If there was nothing new to listen to?

I can't always be there in person, so I got a season ticket. VT is a poor substitute for being there most of the time but it is better than nothing.

Hey Phil, might be me but when I click on the links I get a page can't be found message. I was able to view your photos with no trouble. I'll try again later, maybe just website maintenance.

VTs have been mailed out. On my links the files don't have .mp3 on the end of them, initially they won't load into itunes etc, but if you insert .mp3 on the end of them they do become mp3 files and will load. If that makes sense.

I've just tried the links with no problem, and they've already been downloaded several times. Sometimes people have trouble with a direct link, try copy and pasting the link instead.
