Nowt wrong with challenging your audience. Only if the audience expects or likes to be challenged.

Ah, where's the fun when they're expecting it?

Ah, where's the fun when they're expecting it? Ask the audience. They're an important part of the experience.

I am very much looking forward to hearing this, great pics Xan and lovely close ups of Jez's beast. Sounds like the sets were all very different with Jez pushing the boundary's to the limit by the sounds of things, a honest set by Ion and I have never heard Altres so that will be a new one on me. How was the audience turn out, usual amount?

I just can't ever imagine wanting to go and see a gig and being annoyed at being challenged or exposed to something new or different. What's the point in going if you know exactly what it's going to sound like anyway?

Nice varied music from Modulator ESP, Ion and Altres.
Thanks for the gig last night and it was good meeting people again.
Special thanks to Jez for letting me stay at his house and transport to the gig and back.
Many people were excited seeing Jez's VCS3 up close, a very powerful synth.
Interesting also seeing the gear bought that night, the MicroMoog has some lovely warm sounds.

How was the audience turn out, usual amount? Audience turnout was pretty good, there were a lot of school kids there although many had to leave half way through Altres set as it was getting rather late. The two school kids who did the lighting did a very good job.

Yes, the lighting is really coming on in leaps and bounds hopefully they will be able to do it again next year also, talking to Dave afterwards it looks like we might be able to get the dancers in again, I'm hoping we can get them for the March gig, as I think Paul Nagle would be up for doing some good dancey music

I'd say in public is the best place for it. Nowt wrong with challenging your audience. I think I'm with you on that Ross I tried to do something a bit different, a bit ambient and very electronic which is what Awakenings is about

Excellent pics, Xan. Jules is thrilled with those you took of her.
Alas, I am dismayed at how my double chin managed to get in there every bloody time. (Yes, I have been dieting extensively though it still looks like I have swallowed an air bag... )

I think I'm with you on that Ross I tried to do something a bit different, a bit ambient and very electronic which is what Awakenings is about same here, no point in going to see the same stuff every gig, everyone likes different forms of EM some like all, some just like mad sequences, ambient whetever but at the end of the day in my opinion its how that EM is created more so, than the final output.
