Yes, 3 very good chunks of live EM, and great to meet up with everyone again. Xan and Steve started off with stuff that surprised me a little, I was expecting something a lot more melodic but it turned out more like the music from Terminator and those kind of films and worked very well with the images on the back drop, great animation and great music, thanks for a great set guys. Bjorn, although the music was not my cup of tea for most of it, I enjoyed it and watching him being very active around his gear, he played very well and obviously knows how to maipulate that Kaosspad to get the best results, he never stopped moving from one bit of gear to another which was great to see. Very european, and very modern, parts reminded me of Art of Noise and Kraftwerk. David and Jennifer played some wonderful melodic floaty music with the odd sequency piece and the best I have seen Ion play to be honest. Lovely to see and hear the Viola added for another musical and visual feel, David seemed a lot more comfortable with his playing tonight and they both looked comfortable with each others output, great music, great set and great night. My mate Neil enjoyed it, he didnt say what he liked about it, just that, he liked the friendly non yobbish elements of the night in general, personnaly I got the impression he liked the modern approach of Nattefrost, but thats just my assumption. Well thats my account of another wonderful night in "Burton, or is it Branston School"

Yes, a good night all round. Even though the expectation was 3 uptempo, melodic sets, each was very different from the other. A very nice debut opener from Magnetron. I've seen Bjorn a few times now and this was one of his best live sets. And a really quite layed back set from Ion, which surprised me a little. It was very promising to see so many new faces, the result I believe of Bjorn's self promotion on FB. They all seemed quite enthused by the evening, let's hope they come back. And it was nice to see Ian R. back in land of the living.

I am so pleased it all went well and that everyone seemed to enjoy it. I am sorry to have missed it but I made the right decision as I was very ill during the night. Looking forward to the VT with great anticipation.

Another great evening.
Xan and Steve were excellent. Very measured, well thoughout sounds and build of sequences. Enjoyed it greatly. Nice to see Steve play after such a long time. Their CD is definite worth the cash imo.
Nattefrost was definately very high tempo. I enjoyed it, but must admit at times it was too full on. The sounds were excellent though, so look forward to the VT. I took a punt on some of his CDs and found similar music, but less frenetic, so am becoming very impressed by his work with each listening.
I do like ION, but we have seen them quite a bit, so I was impressed that they managed to do similar but different, if you know what I mean. Really enjoyed it, and the VT will get well played.
As usual visuals were all stunning.
Very good evening, though I am struggling with driving at the momemt, so was less than impressed to find part of the M42 closed.... why me. Ah well, got home in one piece so all's well.
Thanks again to everyone for a great evening of music

Well as most of you know i kinda dropped off the radar when it comes to all thing EM mainly due to staring a family 3 years ago. After playing solo for many years it's been a fun and refreshing change to play music with other people. The Magnetron thing with Xan started in 2006 and continued in 2012. I had great fun playing live again last night and meeting people i haven't seen in a long time. Great to receive some lovely postive comments about the set afterwards. Not bad for something knocked togther on a wet and windy Wed afternoon in my studio! After clearing our gig it was time to sit back and relax and listen to Nattefrost. Very uptempo, industrial, rhythmic and commercial enough to be playing in clubs. If our music is gping to attract a younger audience the music of Nattefrost is sure going to make people sit up and listen. After another short break it was time for Ion to take the stage. Jules was at home looking after 2 poorly dogs so David was joined by a viola player. They produced some very nice music which would fit well as a soundtrack to a movie or documentary.

Thanks for you comments on the gig Mart. I'm intrigued with the Terminator reference. Wait til you hear the VT, i'm not saying it was all like that but parts were almost that "surreal world feel" great stuff. I like being surprised with something I wasnt expecting

It's always fascinating as composer, as to how others relate to the music you do.
