25 mins, you will only have just warmed up by then, how long is the gap between acts.

not much time to prep (post the previous act) can I make a little suggestion....... you will probably think i'm talking out the top of my head but here goes.
As soon as the act before you finishes, fire a up CD of the intro to your set, allow it to play the full 5 mins whiist you are getting ready, this will 1. keep em sitting in their seats, 2. give 'em an unknowing taster of whats to come (they aren't going to know it's you on the CD) 3. when you are totally ready take over the sound with your live work and stop the CD. 4. this will give you 5 mins extra on the set time and also allow you to start at an higher point in the process. Just my thoughts on gigging in london.

I think the 5 mins changeover is for the preceding act to unplug and move their gear, whilst I set mine up, and it gives the audience a break, but thanks for the idea, I'll bear it in mind

London audiences tend to think that they are at the centre of the musical universe and are very snobby about the fact, they are very impatient and if not instantly entertained the chance is lost, i speak from experience.

They won't like me then, I'm planning on doing a very dark ambient/drone/experimental set, with maybe a sort sequencer blowout at the end. Anyway it's an experimental night so hopefully the audience will be receptive

I bow to your judgement and wish you the very best of luck. I thought I may have been down there working but alas I am not, so unless a stroke of luck happens, unfortunately I won't be able to offer you my support. I would have loved to have been there.

I'll try to remember to record it for those who can't make it
