Thinking about it, after tomorrow night I will have been involved with two of these nights on the trot, playing with David and Jules on the last one of 2011 and now With Jez on the first of 2012, almost a veteran ;D

Thanks again Martyn for stepping in to help fill the gap I was completely zonked out with cold and lack of sleep and today felt like an impossible task, but I somehow manged to get through, hopefully the next one will be a bit easier Thanks to Phil for doing the Booth & Creek thing again as otherwise this one wouldn't have happened thanks to Nick for some lovely stuff and stretching the boundaries of Awakenings by bringing an acoustic guitar for a change and last but not least thanks to those brave souls who made it to the gig, including Brendan, Xan, Paul and Neil from here and all the VT attendees for their support Time for bed now

It was an absolute pleasure Jez, now looking forward to the rest of the years shows and obviously mine and Daves night For me the night seems to have a very relaxed atmosphere about it, nothing rushed or stressfull, even the gaps inbetween the sets werent as rigid as they normally are. I am not going to comment on our set last night, just to say it went very fast and I was just getting into it ;D Nick came up second with, like you say an acoustic guitar through his array of FX, some very intersting results and he certainly knows how to use them. Then Jez and Phil, with some very very nice stuff, a brilliant ambient section that will do them proud when they play E Live, I was very surprised at the feel of this section, with its light hi-hat driving the whole feel of the piece. As I said to Phil a certain lack of a lead break within the proceedings but it didnt distract from what was a great live set. Great chatting to everyone again, see you all again soon

Great to see everyone again after a long break for me and my sincere Thanks to all who asked how the Wife was. It was a great eveings entertainment by all, hats off to you all. Sadly my journey home was bloody terrible as the M1 was shut at junction 20 and had to take a 25 mile detour and it got progressively colder eventually got home at 1.45 to a delightful -8.

Sadly my journey home was bloody terrible as the M1 was shut at junction 20 Sorry to hear that, but thanks for braving the elements. Heading north to Sheffield was more straight-forward, until I (nearly) passed a pizza shop with bright lights

A cosy evenings entertainment. Thanks to those who came. I enjoyed both AKM_ESP and Nick's sets. Of all the people who appear at Awakenings I always seem to concentrate on Nick's sets the most as a listener because I'm fascinated by what he's doing and the sounds he gets. Listening to Nick is one of the reasons that made me want to try a bit of looping myself.
It was nice to see Martyn become a fully fledged member of the EM Slaags club ;D
