this is another improv from last night which took 10 minutes, some spacey background and plinky plonky piano, I spent another 2 hours tonight trying to think of something to put on it as an overdub and ended up leaving it as it was last night ;D have a listen if you have 10 mins to spare www.archive.org/details/LTrain

...a couple of bum piano notes and missed ques... Or extended harmonies and fluid timing as it's more rightly known.

When the piano kicked in I think I wanted the background soundscape to get a little quieter or slightly less metallic but the piano was a bit sparce (which I liked) and hey fu.ck it, if i want to give the order I should go and make music myself, money and mouth and all that. cheers, 10 minutes spare definatley not wasted.

Thanks James, not quite what I was thinking about when I played it but its great that people hear things and draw up their own pictures how they perceive the music

Martyn,
managed to give this a listen last night. A very pleasant listen - to me a very similar atmosphere to some of those recordings on Sky Records from the 80s.
If I have to make one (constructive) criticism, the recording is quite 'stark' and perhaps needs a bit of reverb and eq'ing in the final mix to soften it up a little. Unless that's the effect you want, of course.

Thanks for giving it a listen Stu and for your comments and encouragement, yes my recording attributes are somewhat limited, I do find it difficult to get a balance between a nice mix and a swamped or minimal one;-! My main problem is that doing it live and recording direct into a stereo track on my Boss micro BR doesn't leave me with many options afterwards.

And this is why I am looking forward to the time when I can afford a Boss. bR 800 so I can play live into four separate tracks and then play about with them individually. I only really need the four tracks as they would cover all my soundboxes;-)
