just got back from this, interesting, Jez played a blinder and was the best there, the headlining act was not to my liking so left before they had finished. I dont normally do that and tend to give everyone a fair listen, but I just couldnt get into what they were trying to achieve. It was billed as an anniversary gig for the moon landing, and out of all the four acts only jez covered the criteria well.

I forgot to think of you either
was very busy
and kind of stressed as my Wavestaion stopped working while I was setting up
and I got roped into doing videos for the other acts and anything that could go wrong did
but it all seemed to end up alright in the end

some advance blurb I just found Swallows begin the evening’s journey. With meticulous, building atmospherics, Swallows will start the voyage into space from the ground, with drones trembling in the air as if they were echoing the nerves and concerns worried families of first time astronauts. The sound of letting your loved ones slowly slip out of sight, yet hoping against everything else that the faith you have in your heart will be enough to guide them back safely. www.myspace.com/swallowsoverhead“To venture into space we must be strong-willed and determined. We must be fully committed to its exploration and discovery; space permits no half measures and is unforgiving of mistakes.” Henry Joy McCracken Model Fighter signals when it’s time to blast off. With a rare live performance that will be as unpredictable as a rocket shooting from its base, carrying with it the expectations, excitement and fears of those onboard as well as those left behind. This set will represent the ascent – the bursting through atmospheres and the discarding of any former reference points that may have served to reassure you – this is new territory. Boom! www.myspace.com/modelfighter“The Earth is just too small and fragile a basket for the human race to keep all its eggs in.” Robert Heinlein Modulator ESP is perhaps the ideal artist to be performing this evening. Creating soundscapes that in his own words are “somewhere between ’70s space music, prog rock and dark ambient drone” and “abstract journeys into the imagination”, Modulator ESP’s set will mark the evening’s arrival into space. www.myspace.com/modulatoresp“I could have gone on flying through space forever.” Yuri Gagarin What The Moon Is Like will bring the journey to an end with a set that will veer from moody, lush constellations of sound to clattering distortion that hopes to convey the epic insanity of mankind’s obsession with space travel that has lasted centuries. Whether it’s conspiracy theorists questioning whether the USA even got to the moon, or the countless SciFi films that still take a guess about where we’ll finally end up, What The Moon Is Like will put a full stop to an evening with an ode to all the space dogs that never made it home. What goes up must come down. www.myspace.com/whatthemoonislike
