Thank's guy's for you positive comments on my performance last night. For the whole I was happy with the way it went. Had a bit of technical problem with the old ibook initially but I managed to sort that. Went for a more uptempo set this time with a bit of ambient thrown in. Did quite well on the sales of the new cd's. Look forward to your comments on the music. Thanks to Phil and David for helping me clear my gear away. It was nice to go on first, which meant I was able to enjoy the rest of the evening. Really enjoyed Mike's set. A great selection of melodic tracks. The section with the guitarist really picked up a gear. Not too over the top. Hope they release something similar. The highlight of the evening was a truly remarkable performance by Norman to the excellent Hotel Imperial. He managed to capture the action, the tension, the romance, everything. Certainly an unforgettable Awakenings moment. Well done mate.

After having a little time to reflect on last nights concert I conclude that if you weren't there you missed a blinda , Xan's set was the best I've seen him, a lot more of what I would consider live interaction, some great compositions but the icing on the cake for me was the parts in between the tracks, going from one to the next, very very good and I could have listened to those bits more than the rest, so longer transitions next please ;D Mike shipway, I agree with Paul, a safe start but well put together, then got stronger aand then when the guitarist joined it went upto another level some beautiful music being played, it reminded me of spiraleye. And then came what can only be described as phenomenal, I'm not one for old silent films but with Norman's soundtrack, this one caught me right by the bollox and didn't let go, at times I was captivated by the film due to the fantastic music and thought" hang on I'm missing watching Norman playing". I don't think he put a foot wrong during the whole of the piece and what he played was outstanding in both the sounds and the chops. Whenever I watch someone live the backdrop as never really interested me, as I prefer to watch what the artiste is doing, but on this occasion I could not get away from it. A complete all round live performance and possibly one of the defining moments of the awakenings concerts. It was great meeting up with everyone again after a couple of months off thanks to all both players and audience for making it another great night out

I can't stop thinking about the loss of Brian who was involved in an accident on Thurs and sadly died of his injuries on Friday. Brian was driving and he had has son in the passenger seat when the were in collision with an oil tanker. Brian's side of the car took the full impact and Brian sadly died of his injuries on Friday. His son I believe walked away from the crash with only a broken toe. Brian was a lovely guy with not a bad word to say about anyone. Glad to hear everyone had a good time at the gig!

What a night, though... I enjoyed both of the other sets & both managed to distract me from the nervousness that I felt!
Playing to that film, I expected it to be like a normal gig & it wasn't...it's kind of hard to describe, there was a long section, where the Russian General has the hotel maid locked in his room, and then the soldier shoots the russian spy, up to the bit where the maid tears off her glothes & goes nuts at the general - it was really intense, it was like I was part of the film, almost. I've never felt anything like it, what a thrill it was. I must do this again!
thanks to everyone for the nice comments both here and after the concert.

Good to hear that music went down well.
Especially for Norman's set as I know he is very passionate about silent film.
