had great fun doing this last night, was a bit nervous about talking on air, and worried about doing an hour long set, but it all seemed to work out OK it didn't help that I was still frantically re-wiring the studio after a major re-shuffle and only found my mic lead with about 1/2 an hour to spare recording will be up in the next hour or so and is the live debut of my a100 modular I am intrigued, are the modules attached to each other around the back or just a power supply to them, and then the operator (oops! modular synthesist) joins them how he wishes via the patch leads?

Jez do you know how many tuned in for the show? no idea, probably not that many, but there were a few in the chat and hopefully more will get to hear the recording

I am intrigued, are the modules attached to each other around the back or just a power supply to them, and then the operator (oops! modular synthesist) joins them how he wishes via the patch leads? if you get their midi interface module it uses the buss inside to connect the pitch cv to any oscillators and the gate to any envelopes, but without it there are only power connections, so everything has to be patched on the front I don't see myself playing it with a keyboard much if at all, I might sequence it as I have a 2 channel midi-cv interface, but I'm much more likely to use it standalone to make weird noises or to process other stuff

so if there is no keyboard, how are the notes/sounds triggered?

so if there is no keyboard, how are the notes/sounds triggered? they aren't the patch I have set up at the moment uses the joystick to sweep the pitch of the oscillators and the cutoff and resonance of the filter, with the oscillators fed through a ring modulator into the filters low pass input and white noise fed into the high pass input, the out of the filter into the reverb to soften the sound you couldn't play a tune on it but you can make the most wonderful sounds I've got plenty of stuff to play notes so I figured it would be nice to explore just sound instead

Very cool indeed, the science of sound over the creation of music Im sure you will have loads of fun with it.

Listened to the music a few times now. Very subtle. Some lovely sounds in there.
